Media Employment Attorney Discusses Giving a Warning Before a Termination

As an experienced Media Employment Attorney I am often asked if an employer has to give a warning prior to termination.  A lot of employers are under the impression that they have to give notice to their employees prior to termination. That’s generally not the case. Most employees are at will employee and that means that the employer can terminate them for any reasons with or without cause so long as it doesn’t violate a statute with or without notice as well. Basically the employee works at the pleasure of the employer.
